Q&A Hanna Stefansson

Hanna talks about life in Copenhagen, her dream breakfast with family, children’s clothing brands she has a soft spot for, and plans to potentially launch a label of her own. We can’t get enough of the life and style of the Skåne-Danish family! Catch up with Hanna on Insta @hannastefansson for more inspiration.

HI HANNA! IT’S GREAT TO HAVE YOU HERE WITH US AT BABY SHOP. IF YOU COULD INTRODUCE YOURSELF, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?

“Hi, and thanks! I’m a Skåning who now lives in Copenhagen with my boyfriend Frederik and our son Arne. I adore breakfast and do a breakfast pod called @frukostfolket; and I work full time as a digital creator with Instagram as my primary channel.”

WOULD YOU SAY THAT YOUR FAMILY HAS A SPECIFIC STYLE?

“Not really; if we do, it’s free-style! I think my boyfriend and I feel that we can wear what we want and what we feel like. I think Frederik always dresses so cool because he dresses for the day and owns it.”

IF YOU COULD CHOOSE A PERSONAL QUALITY THAT YOU COULD GIVE TO ARNE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

“Everyday pleasures. Personally, I think that I’m really good at appreciating every single day and making something wonderful out of the little things. I also love to laugh, and I hope Arne will be the same. ”

ARE THERE ANY CHILDREN’S BRANDS THAT YOU’RE ESPECIALLY FOND OF?

“Before I had children, I thought I’d dress my kids in neutral colours – but now I think colours are so cute and fun! I think Bobo Chooses, Bonton, and Mini Rodini have loads of lovely things. I think a little retro feel to clothes is so cute, and I also like to hunt for vintage garments for Arne. I’m actually thinking about starting my own children’s label. A friend and I have discussed it and we have lots of exciting ideas. ”

IS IT POSSIBLE TO SHOP SUSTAINABLY FOR CHILDREN? WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY IN CLOTHING?

“Sure, I think there are so much nice vintage and second-hand clothing and for babies in particular, the quality is really good. For babygrows, pyjamas, etc. that are closest to nappies and get washed the most, I buy products made from quality materials. We’ve been able to borrow a lot of clothes from friends and family and we want to pass on Arne’s garments in the future.

WHAT IS YOUR NEXT INVESTMENT FOR ARNE?

“A pair of Wellington boots. I think footwear is an important investment for his little feet.”

HOW ARE YOUR AUTUMN AND WINTER LOOKING, ANY PLANS?

“I think I’m going to get some good Wellington boots so I can jump in puddles! I hope to be able to go on a little trip and maybe go to my in-laws’ summer house on Bornholm, it’s so cosy there in the autumn.”

TELL US MORE ABOUT COPENHAGEN, WHAT’S BEST ABOUT LIVING THERE?

“The energy and atmosphere, I think; I’m so in love with Copenhagen. Sometimes I cycle around and smile because I’m so in love with the city. I just love living there!”

AS A BREAKFAST EXPERT, WHAT’S YOUR DREAM BREAKFAST FOR YOU AND ARNE?

“It would probably be on Bornholm. A summer day at the table down on the beach. With porridge for Arne that he loves, and a lot of berries and croissants for both of us – we think croissants are so yummy! Then Frederik would bring us each a cup of coffee and then all three of us would have a swim and build sand castles together.

WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND? IN ANYTHING!

“Carpe diem. Overused, but so good. Seize the day and focus on the present. Children grow up so fast. Create memories together every day. Life becomes so much more fun then. It might be anything from a little dance, rolling in the snow or making a little cinema at home.”
